Treatment considerations - pre & post treatment advice & everything you’ll want to know to get the most out of your sessions;

Preparing for your upcoming session:

  1. Hydrate: Drink plenty of water leading up to your appointment.

  2. Avoid Heavy Meals: Try not to eat a heavy meal within an hour before your session.

  3. Limit Caffeine and Alcohol: Eliminate alcohol and reduce or eliminate caffeine and intake for at least a few hours prior to your appointment to help your mind and body relax.

  4. Feshen Up: If you are coming from work or the gym, consider taking a shower before your treatment. If you would like to use our shower facilities please bring a towel.

  5. Dress Comfortably: Wear comfortable clothing keeping in mind that your skin will likely be a little oily after the session. During cooler seasons, ensure you dress to keep warm after your session. If you are receiving an oil scalp treatment such as in the Shirodhara treatment, bring a towel or head wrap to keep your head warm post treatment.

  6. Remove Contact Lenses and Makeup
    Please remove contact lenses and makeup before your treatment. Natural makeup wipes are provided at the spa for your convenience.

  7. Set an Intention: Take a moment to reflect on what you want to achieve from your session—be it relaxation, pain relief, or a deeper connection to your well-being.

Post-treatment self-care

  1. Relax and unwind to extend the energy balancing benefits of your treatments. Go for a walk, stretch, or spend some time in nature. If you’ve traveled a long distance to visit, take the time to enjoy the beautiful surroundings after your massage. Currimundi Lake is just a 1 minute walk from the spa, from there you can follow the path to the beach access. Avoid busy, stressful situations, negative media, and intense work or exercise for the rest of the day.

  2. It is advisable to allow the oil to soak into your skin for at least one hour after your treatments. A warm bath or shower is a nice way to support your body post-treatment. To maintain a moisturized feeling, refrain from using soap; if you are prone to acne, consider using natural soap alternatives. If you have received an oil scalp treatment, apply shampoo to your dry hair before wetting it to facilitate easier washing.

  3. After your treatment, refuel your body with healthy, warm cooked meals and fresh food options. Steer clear of deep-fried, high-sugar, and heavily processed foods. Additionally, avoid stimulants and alcohol, and ensure you stay well-hydrated.
