What are Marma-Points
Marma means vital area. There are 107 Marma points located at junction sites across the body where different tissues meet. Marma points are connected to different channels, chakras, and organs. The understanding of Marma points is based upon an elaborate energetic matrix that is believed to have been the foundation for acupuncture and reflexology.
In Ayurveda, marma points are treated with herbal oil and rotational pressure, similar to trigger point therapy, to balance the flow of subtle energy/life force through various systems, channels and chakras of the body or to release tension from the underlying tissue.
